Opportunities for liturgical formation are frequently provided by the Dioceses of England and Wales. Some of these are evening or single day courses which address particular formation needs. Others are longer courses which seek to offer a broader understanding of the liturgy itself or of ministry in the liturgy. Often these longer courses are based on Celebrating The Paschal Mystery (A Syllabus of Liturgical Formation for those setting up courses in Liturgy), or A Preliminary Syllabus for the Formation of Church Musicians, both of which have been issued with the authority of the Department for Christian Life and Worship of the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.

These courses are organized locally and there is no central register. Those interested in finding out what is available locally are advised to contact the Liturgical Commission of their own and neighbouring Dioceses.

A wide range of other courses, workshops and conferences are offered each year. Details are often carried in the Liturgy Newsletter, but can also be found through the links page. Attention is particularly drawn to the National Conferences organized each year by the Society of St Gregory and every second year by the National Network of Pastoral Musicians (Accord - the magazine of NNPM is primarily a listing of courses and events).
